While a lot of people search for the term “bathtub refinishing Dallas” trying to find a good refinishing company or “bathtub refinishing Tyler Texas” many do not know what they are getting into. What you will find is pretty websites and promises of warranties and quality of work. I have been in the refinishing business for over a decade and can tell you all those promises don’t hold the test of time. While there are only a couple of companies out there that will give you what you are expecting, there are some key questions you can ask to make sure you choose the right one.
First of all, how the company bonds the coating materials to the surface that you are having refinished and how the surface is cleaned and prepared before the coatings are applied. Preparation is the most important key to a long lasting refinishing job. Over the years I have redone many tub refinishing and tile refinishing jobs that looked good in the beginning, but failed within the course of a year. I’ve also seen some that failed in as little as a month after.
In all the cases I just described the customer was told of 5 to 10 year warranties, which of course were not fulfilled. This is what is called a tail light warranty… as soon as you cannot see their tail light the warranty is over. In a lot of ways this really frustrated me because they are giving our industry a bad name. It takes a company that cares about their products and customers to take the time to do quality work.
Second please make sure and ask a lot of questions to ensure what your getting you will receive. A legitimate refinishing company will tell you what to watch out for. I will elaborate more in future posts!
